Client Selection

The Pentagon plans for two and half wars at the same time.

So do we.

Our clients pay for our fund of knowledge and our mental time.

The first is vast and forever increasing.

The second is always in short supply. We have to ration it.

A lot of mental time goes into client selection. (We like to think that our clients select writers as carefully as they would choose a surgeon or an architect.) An initial consultation is needed so that all parties can see what they might be getting into. Appraising the project can be delicate, especially if there is a lot of preliminary material to be read.

Serving our clients can make it difficult to acquire new ones.

Wingate & Wingate, Writers—our name says it all. Both of us work on every project for every client. Nothing gets delegated to youngsters in the back room. We will never have any staff.

If someone needs writing done in a hurry, we may suggest alternate writers.

We have no ice in our veins, but two and half wars is enough.
